Unfortunately I never saved a link to that web page, and cant figure out the right keywords to find it anymore. I am also seeing this issue when adding my work Gmail calendar to Thunderbird Lightning via CalDAV (102.3.1). I suspect if they do anything it would only be after several major architectural changes.Ībout 7 years ago there was a proposal (I think as part of a new gecko architecture) to convert Thunderbird into a XULRunner application that could be run either standalone or from Firefox (like an add-on). Navigate to Settings -> Mail -> Accounts Select Add Account, choosing Microsoft Exchange Gmail app on Android. There is also the issue of what impact this has on add-ons. Click the checkbox next to the domain for which you need to configure external mail server, click Activate/Deactivate. ![]() When I create a new IMAP folder on my own server, the result is the same. It seems Gmail thinks thunderbird is 'less secure' so I had to turn a toggle that allows less secure apps to access gmail and it worked fine. Sadly, that new folder does not show up in Thunderbird unless I restart Thunderbird. I had the same problem, and the answer for me turned out to be a Gmail setting. They'd need to do something to add more value than being yet another webmail implementation, and would want to avoid re-inventing Mozilla Suite (aka SeaMonkey). 91 Whenever I create a new label in my Gmail account, this creates a new IMAP folder. I have no idea when or what form Thunderbird would take IF they ever produced a version for "the cloud". But in this perspective, data sync (not only AB, but white/black lists, settings, credentials, and maybe not email.) should be very central. 'Experience' says it all: what should that be remains to be defined. One direction we would like to explore is to deliver a Thunderbird 'experience' on multiple devices, ie desktop, web and mobile (ie touch devices) access to the same set of data. At this time, you cannot use your Google credentials to sign in to your Microsoft account, but you can use your Gmail address as Add or remove an email.
